A new tick cutting that causes a person to develop allergies to red meat, in the south -west and in the lower midwest US, with two cases this week. According to officials, most cases are related to loan star tick.

Doctors say that the ticks bite – releasing a stable stream of saliva that contains chemicals that feed their victim’s blood as they feed. Sometimes, saliva also contains a sugar molecule known as alpha-gal. Subsequently, an alpha-gall syndrome-a response to the nominee that occurs in some people-increases to red meat allergies.

Douglas Noris, Professor of Molecular Microbiology and Immity at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, said, “Alpha-gall syndrome is relatively rare, but those who have it may have anaphylactic shock.”

Alpha-gall syndrome is more than half a million

According to the Disease Control and Prevention Center, or CDC, more than half a million people in the United States have Alpha-Gal syndrome. “We believe that loan star tick is still responsible for most cases of Alpha-Gal syndrome in the US,” Dr. Johana Saljar said, a veterinary medical officer and an epidemic with a division of vector-borne diseases of CDC.

How is Alpha-Gal syndrome?

According to experts, alpha-gall syndrome is not caused by a bacterium or virus, but almost all non-rich animals, including cows, horses, and deer, have an immune response to sugar found in animals, which may be present in tick saliva.

For some people, the body has an immunoglobulin E, or IgE, antibody reaction through contact with alpha-gal through a tick cutting. People mounting this reaction develop an allergy to meat that takes up to weeks to appear.

Symptoms and symptoms of alpha-gal syndrome
