Mumbai is all set to open its first bird park in Nahur. The project, launched by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), aims to promote wildlife conservation in the city.
The location boasts many unique features – including geographic regions representing Africa, Australia, and the United States. Each of these areas will showcase bird species native to these areas.
The park will also have various recreational facilities including a jogging track, basketball and volleyball courts. With this, this place will become a perfect blend of nature and fitness, which will encourage a healthy individual. lifestyle For the people living in this city. Additionally, there will also be an interpretation center dedicated to educating visitors about the bird species, their habitats and the importance of wildlife conservation.
The park will have a total of 22 bird species, including exotic species like black swan, toco toucan and white peacock. The estimated budget of the park is around ₹100 crore. Additionally, important clearances from the Central Zoo Authority have already been obtained.
According to civic officials, the park is expected to be completed by 2027. Spread over 17,150 square metres, the park will be located in Nahur, the eastern suburb of the city, and will be a perfect blend of nature and modernity.
