Mumbai All set to get my first high forest path In the Malabar Hill region. Inspired by the forest paths of Singapore, this 705 meter path will connect Kamla Nehru Park with Dungarwadi forests. Furthermore, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning this eco-friendly initiative that will guarantee a wonderful and beautiful walking experience.
More about Mumbai’s first elevated walkway
This 705 meter long elevated walkway will offer a wonderful forest landscape. This will allow pedestrians to enjoy uninterrupted views of the Arabian Sea, which is very important. The wooden structure of the walkway has been carefully designed to blend in with the natural surroundings. Measures are also being taken to ensure minimum disruption to water flow on hill slopes. This will also not hamper the movement of wildlife in the area.
The total budget of Walkaway will be Rs 25 crore.
Reports suggest that BMC aims to complete the walkway by the end of this year. This elevated forest path will provide a refreshing urban escape and will also represent an important step in Mumbai’s dedication to sustainable urban development.
