As a much-needed upgrade, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari recently announced plans to launch water taxi services MumbaiThis innovative project promises to connect any part of the city to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport in just 17 minutes. The main objective of this initiative is to deal with traffic congestion and reduce air pollution.
As of now, ferries have already been constructed near the airport and the service is expected to start by March 2025.
Additionally, the plan also includes amphibious seaplanes – which will be able to land on Thane’s lakes. Additionally, updates were shared on the New Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which is designed to reduce outbound traffic and ease congestion between Mumbai and Pune.
Additionally, Mumbai is set to launch a state-of-the-art electric intercity bus service. These high-speed buses will provide a flying-like experience. These will have a seating capacity of 135 passengers and will be able to cover a range of 40 kilometers on a 30-second quick charge.
All these developments have resulted in a massive update to Mumbai’s transportation landscape.
