New success cancer test may double the survival rate for youth

A new trial in the United Kingdom has discovered a highly sensitive bone marrow test that can revolutionize the diagnosis and treatment of acute myeloid leukemia, a rare cancer that affects your bone marrow and blood. This can potentially improve the lives of thousands of people with this aggressive blood cancer – mostly young.

This new test can help identify cancer cells until three months ago compared to current monitoring methods.

A new test is capable of detecting that a highly sensitive bone marrow test can change the treatment of diagnosis and acute myeloid leukemia. This can help improve the lives of thousands of people who are diagnosed with this aggressive cancer. According to experts, more than two-thirds of people with AML experience for months or years after going into their body due to the remaining leukemia cells. However, this new test can help identify these cells three months earlier than current monitoring methods, double the rates of survival for some patients.
The initial identity not only helps to start before treatment, which usually diagnoses a better disease, but also ensures that the patients are healthy and count the normal red blood cell – which is important to help them tolerate treatment.
The study published in Lancet Hematology and led by King’s College London monitored more than 600 patients for six years. There were many people for whom chemotherapy showed no effect, motivated doctors to seek alternative remedies as they aims to bring them back before the stem cell transplant.
“Acute meloid leukemia is a terrible disease. The nomination in this test saved my life and enables doctors to try alternative remedies. It is surprising to see great progress in improving treatment options for patients. I hope that being part of this research is going to save many other people, who are going to help me in a similar situation.”
The research team hopes that the test can be adapted for use in the diagnosis of different types of other types of cancer.
