According to the latest data from the UK Health Protection Agency (UKHSA), the number of cases reported between 20 January and 3 February More than the average of five-seasons.

– Get into close contact with an infected person
– Touching the contaminated surfaces and then your mouth
– Eating food prepared by someone with virus
– Consumption of contaminated water or food
Therefore, health officials are urging to focus on maintaining cleanliness.

Symptoms

NHS warns that symptoms include:

– nausea
– vomit
– Diarrhea
– High fever
– Headache
– Stomach cramps
– Pain in normal body
While most people recover within two to three days, the key to jump back quickly is being hydrated. NHS recommends: β€œThe most important thing is that there are plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.”

Prevent dissemination

If you or someone in your house has Norovirus, NHS advised to take additional precautions to prevent it from spreading further:

– Stay at home – Avoid work, schools, hospitals and care houses for at least 48 hours after the symptoms disappear.
– Wash your hands properly – soap and water are necessary; Alcohol gels do not kill Norovirus.
– Keep the surfaces clean – toilets, flush handles, taps and doors regularly disinfect handles.
– Handle laundry with care – Wash separate contaminated clothes and beds at 60 degrees C.
– Reduce contact with others – The less you interact, the risk of spreading the virus is low.
