Sars-Cov-2 virus is still roaming! Expert Warning – Here is told how to promote your immunity to stay safe
Even after five years, Covid-19 is still moving, although it is now weak. Experts say this is not a major threat, but recommends to maintain strong immunity with vaccines, a healthy diet, exercise and hygiene. While there is no need to panic, we still need to be cautious.

Even after five years, it arose a global health crisis, the Covid-19 virus is still around. Although this is not as dangerous as before, experts say it has not gone completely. Five years after March, India moved to the 21 -day lockdown to prevent the spread of Kovid -19. For three years, the virus disrupted life, overwhelmed hospitals, and millions of deaths around the world, including more than 5.25 million in India. In May 2023, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that Kovid -19 was no longer a global health emergency, but recent data shows that it is still infecting people. This year between January 6 and February 2, 83 countries had 1,47,000 new cases and 4,500 deaths.
Covid-19: less dangerous, but still here
Experts say the virus has weakened over time. “How the virus work works,” says Shahid Jamil, a virologist and partner from the Green Templeton College, Oxford University. “Sars-Cov-2 is no longer so serious. It may not be lighter like flu, but it is reaching there.”
He said that while the virus can still be risky for people with breathing issues or weak immunity, it is no longer a major threat to the general public. “There is no indication that it would return to a strong form,” Jamil assured.
Former Chief Scientist of WHO, Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, agrees. “Covid-19 is still around, and we sometimes see outbreaks, especially among the weak. There is no need to panic, but we should be cautious and protect them from high risk.”
Simple ways to promote your immunity
Since the virus is still moving, doctors say that keeping your immunity strong is the best way to be safe. This way:
1. Stay with vaccination: A microbiologist at Christian Medical College, Vellore, Dr. Gagandip Kang, recommends people if they are eligible. “Vaccines still provide a lot of protection against serious illness and hospitalization, especially for people with weaker immunity.”
2. Eat a healthy diet: Former Director of the National Institute of Virology, Dr. Priya Abraham says, “A good diet is important for a strong immune system.” “Eat foods rich in vitamin C, zinc and probiotics to help fight your body.”
3. Get enough sleep and exercise: Regular exercise and good sleep help in fighting the body. Former director of AIIMS Delhi, Dr. Randeep Guleria says, “Exercise keeps your immune system under examination, and quality sleep helps to cure your body.”
4. Follow the original hygiene: While masks and sanitisers are no longer mandatory, basic hygiene still matters. Dr. Swaminathan says, “Hand washing and avoiding congested, poorly ventilated places can still reduce the risk of infection.”
