Shalini Pasi After the release of the third season of Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, it is all over the internet. It is becoming difficult for people to take their eyes off Shalini and her ideologies. while he is opulent lifestyle has captured the attention of viewers, with some references to the show particularly going viral.
During a dinner scene, Pasi was seen drinking champagne with a straw, to which Seema Kiran Sajdeh asked why she was doing so. Responding to him, Pasi said, “I don’t want it touching my teeth. I don’t want my enamel to get damaged.” This scene left many people wondering whether drinking beverages through a straw is really that weird or does it actually protect teeth? Let us know from an expert.
Dr Subhankar Mehrotra, Proprietor and Resident Dentist, Ordent Gurugram, says, “Alcohol can have some negative effects on your mouth. It dries it out as it slows down saliva production. Saliva helps protect your teeth by washing away bacteria. “Helps protect your teeth, so with less saliva, there’s a higher risk of cavities. Plus, like energy drinks and soda, alcohol can wear down the hard outer layer of your teeth, the enamel.” This is why drinking too much alcohol can cause enamel erosion, making teeth weak, sensitive and more likely to stain. Alcohol can also cause acid reflux, which can cause further damage to the enamel.
Meanwhile, a 2015 study published in the journal PLOS One found that various non-alcohol beverages can cause tooth erosion. Drinks tested as a part of this study included Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Light, Sprite, apple juice, Red Bull, orange juice, Bonaqua fruit, tap water, swimming pool water and lemon juice. Were included. The teeth were immersed in these liquids for 7 days at body temperature. The results showed that lemon juice was the most corrosive, followed by Sprite, apple juice and orange juice.
Turns out, Shalini was right! Drinking beverages with a straw helps keep fluids away from the front teeth. It also reduced contact with staining agents such as coffee, tea and red wine.
However, it is important to note that using a straw does not completely eliminate the risk of staining, as liquid can still come into contact with the back teeth.
