Bisma said that she was doing a miracle in her career, ‘Was pulling all-nieters, was walking on caffeine and adrenaline, harassed to eat, let me sleep alone’

A 30 -year -old woman who has been detected of an incurable breast cancer, spreading into her bones, spine and liver, warned against a lifestyle issue that she believes that she caused a fatal situation. For Bisma Lalji, who has been living with the disease since February 2023, his high-up finance job caused his health to fall under huge amounts of stress.
While Bisma said that she was doing a miracle in her career, she was ‘pulling all-nieters, was walking on caffeine and adrenaline, haough stopping to eat, let me sleep alone.’
Sharing about her journey on social media recently, Bisma said that she now knows that her high pressure work contributed to her illness. “Chronic stress is a silent killer. It disrupts your hormones, weakens your immune system, and prevents your body from doing what it is designed to do – heel,” she wrote on Instagram. “Your body needs sleep for fighting inflammation, and to recover for autofagi (aka cellular clean-up). But when you are in constant fight-or-flight mode? This is not the treatment,” Bisma said.
“Add a divorce to the mixture, and my personal and professional life weight hit me like a ton bricks. But I kept pushing me. I kept telling myself that I will rest later.”

Bisma ignored the initial symptoms of cancer

A native of California, Bissma has four breast cancer, and the disease has spread with her liver in her upper body, spine and her bones. Bisma said that she suddenly feels pain in her spine – which was the only symptom of her before diagnosis, but she ignored it.
Later tests revealed that aggressive cancer formed a 1-cm tumor in her right breast. Lalji said that she was pregnant at the time of her diagnosis and was forced to end her pregnancy. However, so far, she says that due to treatment, her cancer is currently stable.

How does stress contribute to cancer?

According to studies, stress mostly causes cancer in people who smoke, consume more, and eat unhealthy food. Even though it does not cause direct cancer, stress affects the growth and progression of cancer through various mechanisms – including weakening the immune system, promoting unhealthy lifestyle options and accelerating tumors.
Additionally, chronic stress can lead to chronic inflammation, which is associated with the development of cancer.

What is breast cancer?

Breast cancer occurs when cancer cells in your breasts are manifold and become tumors. According to doctors, more than 80 percent of breast cancer cases are aggressive, which means that a tumor spreads from your breast to other areas of your body. While breast cancer usually affects women aged 50 years and above, it can also affect people who are less than 50.
The risk of breast cancer grows roughly with age, but other factors, such as family history and alcohol, also play a role.
