Heart disease continues in the major causes of death globally. From heart attack to sudden heart arrest, these conditions often strike without any warning and that is why they have earned the label of ‘silent killers’. Deaths due to heart attack are increasing and the number of diagnosis and uncontrolled cases is dangerously higher. While most of us know about the basic things, eat healthy, remain active, sleep well, something that is often underestimated – the role of stress in damaging our hearts.
The main interventional cardiologist Dr. M. Sai Sudhakar clearly said, “All these days are emphasized. They don’t know what to do to deal with that stress. Late night shift, work deadlines, personal conflict, trauma, all it adds. Stress not only removes the quality of your life, but also puts serious risk to heart diseases.”
We often hear a normal line “manage stress”, but the chaotic for anyone is stuck in the middle of the routine, which may feel disappointingly vague. So what can we do?
Dr. Mohit Gupta, Professor of Cardiology and Maulana Azad Medical College at GB Hospital, often talk about deep relations between mental and heart health. They believe that stress is not only about temporary reforms, but about rebuilding the way we think. According to him, many people fall into the toxic loops of overthinking, continuously live with fear of what may go wrong. This mental pattern not only causes emotional energy, but also affects the heart silently. Dr. Gupta encourages people to be aware of these ideas patterns and consciously freed them, with mindfulness, demand clarity and focus on the present moment. This is not easy, but with continuity, they say, the mind can be trained to respond, not a response, thus the burden on the heart can be reduced.
Here are some experts-innovative simple ways yet:
Walk and exercise
Movement is medicine. Taking a 30 -minute brisk walk can only be greater than burning calories, it cleanses your head and flows happy hormones. You do not need to hit the gym for an hour daily. You can simply step out, walk, stretch or dance. The point is to pursue your body regularly and it is a natural stress-buster.
breathe
We often forget it. Breathing intentionally, not the task of breathing itself. Try it: Grab the depth, for a few seconds and slowly exhale. Repeat. A conscious breathing of just five minutes can move to calm your state of mind to calm down. It is free of cost, it is simple, and it is powerful.
Attention
Meditation is not about rotating yourself in a yoga posture. Meditation is still about being, sitting in silence, and going inwards. Even ten minutes a day can make a big difference to close your eyes and observe your breaths or settle your thoughts. This is like giving your mind a moment.
Socialization
Yes, talk to people. In real life, not just one screen. These moments matters with a friend laughing with a friend, a brother -in -law or just holding over the tea. We often ignore the treatment power of human connections because we are clinging to our phone. But the real interaction can lighten the mental load and fill you with heat.
Holiday
The burnout is real. And the solution is not always a productivity, it is a break. Step away from the routine, whether it is just a weekend migration or a day off to do nothing. A change of scenes or just unplugging for a while can refresh your brain and body. It is not an indulgence, it is self-conservation.
Finally, a grand plan is not always required to deal with stress. Sometimes, it is about the small things we ignore. A cool moment, a walk, a laugh, a break, they can all go a long way to keep their heart healthy and keep their life happy.
