A delicious meal can turn even a bad day into a good one. Food is subtly powerful, it has the ability to not only captivate your taste buds but also fill your heart with love. Case in point – a recent post shared on X by Harshdeep Rapal, Founder and CEO of Legit AI. In a heartwarming post titled “Like mother, like son”, Rapal revealed that he learned cooking from his mother while in school. He wrote, “By the time I reached graduation, she was teaching me complex things like Gajar-Halwa/Gajar-Pak.”

Their shared love of cooking recently led to quite a sweet moment, literally and figuratively. Rapal told that his parents had recently come to Patiala to meet him. To surprise him, his mother brought with her special carrot-pak. To surprise them, Rapal also made Gajar-Pak using his mother’s recipe.

“Same texture, same colour, same consistency, same taste and even the sweetness level is the same. The only difference is that he added desiccated coconut, I didn’t,” he revealed. He added, “He trained me well.”

Sharing a picture of two similar-looking carrot-paks, he said, “The one with the round container was made by my mother. The one with the square glass container was made by me.”

My mother started teaching me cooking when I was in school. When I reached graduation, she was teaching me complicated things like Gajar-Halwa/Gajar-Pak.

Today my parents came from Patiala and brought Gajar-Pak to surprise us. And, to their surprise,… pic.twitter.com/Dx3NNyMhOd– Harshdeep Rapal (@harshdeeprapal) 18 January 2025
