Two colleagues said they saw Dr. Graham Holmes urinate in the sink

A doctor found urinating in a consulting room sink has had his name removed after failing to comply with restrictions on his registration.

Graham Holmes worked as a locum consultant in Hampshire, Dorset, Greater Manchester and Wirral.

A hearing also found that he told a woman she needed a CT scan “to see if she has a brain”, or words to that effect.

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) found that “there was no evidence of acknowledgement, appreciation or apology for his proven serious misconduct”.

Its tribunal found that Dr Holmes worked in various hospitals between August 2019 and March 2021.

In August 2019 at Gosport War Memorial Hospital in Hampshire, a colleague said she overheard Dr Holmes telling the woman she needed a scan – but the patient did not listen.

Dr Holmes told the regulator he could not remember whether he had made the comment.

A colleague at the same hospital said that while he was pouring water from a cup in the sink, they saw him urinating through the inside window.

Concerns were raised about his adherence to COVID-19 infection control protocols while working at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital in Dorset in 2020.

A manager said that while working at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan, Greater Manchester, also in 2020, he was “the worst member of staff for not wearing his mask properly”.

It was also found that Dr Holmes had knowingly failed to comply with the conditions placed on his registration for more than six weeks while working for Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust in 2021.

The regulator said this was deliberate and was the “most serious” element of his misconduct.
