Pre-reconciliation had no history of heart disease and two health red flags were not registered
A ‘fit and healthy’ doctor has issued a warning not to ignore the symptoms of any red flag after a shocking heart attack. Sixty-year-old surgeon Philips Hollz said that he was surrounded by pain in the center of his chest as he was going to go on a fishing vacation with a friend.
Despite not having a history of heart disease, Philips said he realized that he was having a heart attack and reached the hospital on time, where his worst fear was confirmed. Doctors also discovered that Philip had type 2 diabetes, the condition of a silent killer that damages blood vessels and leads to heart disease over time.
Philip wrote in a blog posted on the website of the British Heart Foundation, “I was surprised; I could not believe it because I had no history of heart disease, and my parents both fit and well in the 90s.” Later, the tests confirmed that Philip’s coronary arteries-federation ships that supply oxygen to the heart muscles-were blocked in a way. The heart attack occurs when the heart supply is suddenly cut off, usually with a blood clot.
Philip then underwent surgery, where a stent was put into a block blood vessel to restore blood supply in his heart. However, Philips felt that he was experiencing the warning signs of the situation and however, ignored him.
Warning signs Philips were
Philips said that he was losing weight even without trying fast and was going to the toilet very often – both symptoms of diabetes. “I look back and wonder, why I didn’t investigate? I am a doctor, and was shocking to feel that I didn’t make time for it. If my high blood sugar level was diagnosed five years ago, I could not have diabetes,” he wrote.
Philip said that he was not eating a good, healthy diet and had eaten badly for years.
