It is different from other Indian states because of its three capitals. The names are listed below:
- Visakhapatnam
- Amravati
- Kurnool
Why does Andhra Pradesh have three capitals?,
After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the state proposed the construction of a grand capital at Amaravati and enacted the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority Act, 2014. The Act stated that Amaravati would be the “Legislative Capital”, Visakhapatnam would be the “Executive Capital”. , and the “judicial capital” of Kurnool State.
The decision to establish three capitals in Andhra Pradesh was made with the aim of promoting balanced development, decentralization of power and ensuring regional representation.
