Here are 7 common kitchen ingredients to keep your kitchen fresh:

1. Lemon peel

Lemon is full of freshness. While lemon peels are often abandoned, they act as excellent natural air fresheners. Boil them in a vessel of water or toss them in bin to cut them on stubborn smells. Their sour fragrance neutralizes the strong smell from garlic, fish or fried food. You can also rub boards on the chopping board to remove the smell of onions and spices. Bonus Tip: Add some cloves to a spicy citrus aroma.

2. Clove and cinnamon

Spices do more than increasing the flavor-they can also refresh your kitchen. Boil a handful of cloves and cinnamon sticks in water for a warm, long -lasting aroma that makes your home feel comfortable. You can also leave the ground cinnamon or a small bowl of whole cloves in your pantry to absorb unwanted smells.

3. Coffee ground

If you love coffee, this trick is for you. Used coffee grounds absorb strong smells and leave behind a light, soil fragrance. Just keep your kitchen fresh and place a bowl of dry coffee ground in your fridge, pantry, or bin to neutralize unpleasant odors.

4. Vanilla extract

Want your kitchen to smell like a bakery? A few drops of vanilla extracts can move. Press some on a cotton ball and place it near your stove or in cabinets. You can also add a few drops to a baking tray with water and heat it in the oven at low temperatures. The sweet fragrance will make it feel that you have just baked a fresh batch of cookies.

5. Bay leaves

Bay leaves have a naturally herbal, slightly spicy fragrance that makes the kitchen a fresh smell. Place some bay leaves in your pantry or near the stovetop. For a strong fragrance, crush the leaves and mix them with warm water before wiping the surfaces. This method also helps in keeping insects away.

6. Baking soda

Baking soda is a powerful natural deodoriser that absorbs strong kitchen smells. Place an open box in the fridge, sprinkle something on the bin floor, or mix it with water on clean surfaces. If your hands smell after cutting garlic or onion, rubbing a paste of baking soda and water will immediately remove the smell.
