“But why should I stop? My bar is much more than working for me. This is my life,” Non Anna says, who likes to work in his cafe.

Anna Possi, who lives in the beautiful village Nebiyuno, is the oldest barista in Italy, working in her cafe bar every day, even at the age of 100. Anna, Dadi are also popular as Anna or Nona Anna, officially retired at 60 in 1984. “While she receives a pension of 590 euros and does not earn much money, she continues to work in cafes to enjoy it.” But I don’t need much. The important thing is that I am around people. Then I feel good, “she says.
Non Anna is opening his bar to Central at 7 am since 1958, which is more than six decades. She closes the cafe at seven o’clock in the evening in winter and nine o’clock in the summer. The cafe is open 365 days a year. Non Anna can be found making coffee on Sunday and public holidays. “People also want to drink their coffee on Christmas,” she says.
She does not close the cafe for any personal break or holidays. His last holiday in Paris in the 1950s was eight days. Even in the cafe, she works alone from morning to night. At the age of 100, she also cuts wood for small stoves.

Given the change in people and cafe culture over time, she shared, “People used to sit here, talk and play cards. Today, they all look at their mobile phones.” When nothing is to be done, she gets busy with her weaving.
In November 2024, Nanna Anna celebrated her 100th birthday. Celebrating this milestone, a sign in the cafe reads ‘La Barista Piu Longeva D’Alia’ or ‘The oldest Barista in Italy’.
