What inspired you to embark on this journey?
When asked about his inspiration to embark on this weight loss journey, Ritesh mentioned two major influences: his children and fitness expert Jitendra Chowksey, founder of Fitter. “The way Jeetendra changed the lives of millions of people was inspiring. And I wanted to be healthy for my children.”
46 kg weight loss: a 15 month journey
In just 15 months, Ritesh’s weight went from 120 kg to 74 kg – a remarkable transformation. This transformation was not the result of a quick fix, but a carefully crafted plan combining a structured diet and consistent exercise.
What were some of the biggest challenges you faced along the way?
The hardest part of Ritesh’s journey was resisting temptation, especially during social events. “I’m a very social person, and one of the biggest challenges was to stay away from delicious food at parties,” he says. Coming from a family that enjoyed rich, delicious meals, it was easy for him. Wasn’t. “We used to prepare delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. I had to give it up and stick to the foods allowed in my diet.”
How did you stay motivated during your weight loss journey?
While some people rely on external validation or milestones, for Ritesh, his reflection was enough to keep him going. Every visible improvement became a reason to work harder, do more, and stay focused. He explains, “I looked at myself in the mirror every day – that was my biggest motivation. As the days went by I needed to look better.”
Diet and exercise followed during this period weight loss transformation
Ritesh’s transformation was built on a solid foundation of a customized diet and exercise routine. “I was on a low-carb diet which my coach Sunanda adjusted every two weeks,” he explains. His workout routine included resistance training in the gym for 90 minutes every day, six days a week.
What advice do you have for others who want to embark on a similar transformation journey?
When asked what advice he has for people who want to transform their bodies, Ritesh’s message is clear: “Just start. No workout is a bad workout. Even if you don’t have any idea about the equipment, If you don’t know, go to the gym and talk to the trainers – they will help you.”
How has your life changed since achieving your weight loss goals?
Ritesh’s life has changed dramatically since achieving his weight loss goal. “I had to spend a lot of money on a new wardrobe,” he said. But beyond the physical changes, Ritesh feels empowered by his achievement. “There are a lot of things I can do now that I couldn’t do before. People notice the change and they appreciate it.”
