With a master plan to introduce over 20 thrilling adventure activities, this hidden gem is set to become the next big thing on our adventure bucket list.
Once a quiet rural retreat, Bhohat Kasol is now undergoing a transformation that promises to redefine the Himachal tourism experience. According to Deputy Commissioner Abid Hussain Sadiq, the proximity to the Kol Dam and stable water levels throughout the year have opened up a world of possibilities for water-based adventures in the area. He recently went to survey the site near the Kol Dam with a team of administrative officials. Think adventure activities ranging from adrenaline-pumping white-water rafting and kayaking to serene paddleboarding and boating.
But the adventure doesn’t end here. The authorities are looking at a number of other activities to make Bhohat Kasol a year-round destination. “Our aim is to transform Bhohat Kasol into a vibrant rural tourist destination,” Sadiq was quoted as saying in the report. The government’s vision extends far beyond adventure tourism. Bhohat Kasol is being envisioned as a comprehensive tourist destination where visitors can immerse themselves in the rich rural lifestyle, experience the warmth of local hospitality, taste authentic Himachali cuisine and explore the cultural heritage of the region.
Himachal Pradesh continues to be on top when it comes to tourist destinations that attract Indian tourists. Recent reports have revealed that Himachal Pradesh received 74 lakh tourists between January and May, which is 3.5% more than last year. Solan has received the highest number of tourists in Himachal Pradesh, overtaking Shimla.
