MongoliaMongolia, a vast, landlocked country sandwiched between Russia and China, is emerging as an attractive tourist destination. Once a remote and isolated country, Mongolia is now opening its doors to travelers seeking authentic experiences off the beaten path.
With its breathtaking landscapes, rich nomadic culture and warm hospitality, Mongolia is set to become the next big tourism gem. From sprawling plains to the towering Altai Mountains, the country offers a diverse range of experiences for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike.

“Welcome to Mongolia”
Like most countries, Mongolia’s tourism industry has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the country is now actively attracting travelers back with a dynamic campaign – “Welcome to Mongolia.” The government is making it easier than ever to travel by adding more flights and streamlining the visa process, even offering visa-free entry for citizens of many countries. This renewed focus is already yielding results. In the first seven months of 2024, more than 437,000 foreign tourists visited Mongolia, a significant increase of 25% compared to the same period last year. The number of tourists from Europe, the US and Japan is on the rise, while the number of visitors from South Korea has nearly doubled, likely due to the convenient ability to fly to Mongolia in less than four hours.

While the impressive influx of tourists paints a positive picture, the government of Mongolia aspires to attract 1 million tourists annually between 2023 and 2025. This land, which was once the vast empire of Genghis Khan, has immense potential to thrill tourists.
Why should you visit Mongolia?
One of the most unique aspects of Mongolia is its nomadic culture. Immerse yourself in this unique lifestyle by staying in a ger, a traditional felt-covered yurt. Experience the thrill of horseback riding across endless plains, watch the vibrant Naadam Festival – a celebration of Mongolian heritage – or simply relax under the vast, star-filled skies.
