French ropeway company Poma SAS has proposed the world’s first ropeway system, potentially on a tiger reserve. This will allow visitors to see tigers and other wildlife from an aerial perspective. The initiative aims to preserve the rich ecosystem of Tadoba as well as enhance wildlife tourism.
According to the project, the said ropeway will take visitors through the dense forest, while maintaining peace below, and will not disturb the wildlife.
Benjamin Fauchier Delavigne, director of public affairs and head of sales for Asia at Poma SAS, presented the company’s intentions to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. This happened during the foundation stone laying ceremony of Pernod Ricard’s distillery in Butibori. He elaborated on the importance of the design of the ropeway in ensuring minimum disturbance to the natural environment.
