To cure fatty liver, you must eat these 5 foods:

According to nutritionist Deepshikha Jain, these foods can help you deal with fatty liver.

1. Black Coffee

Black coffee isn’t just for kick-starting your morning; it’s also good for your liver. Experts say it’s rich in antioxidants and polyphenols, which can reduce abnormal liver enzymes and improve overall liver function. Also, these antioxidants are very effective in fighting oxidative stress, which plays a major role in liver damage. So, the next time you drink a cup of coffee, know that you’re doing good for your liver.

2. Dark leafy vegetables

Spinach, kale, collard greens—these dark leafy vegetables are like a superhero squad for your liver. They are packed with nutrients that keep the liver healthy, as they are high in nitrates and polyphenols. Antioxidants like vitamins A, C, and K in these greens help protect liver cells from oxidative damage. Adding more dark leafy vegetables to your diet can reduce fat buildup in the liver and keep it functioning well.

3. Avocado

Avocado isn’t just for toasting – it’s also a great liver health booster. Rich in glutathione, avocados help detoxify the liver and improve its functioning. The antioxidants in avocados also fight inflammation and oxidative stress, while vitamins E and C protect liver cells. If you want to keep your liver healthy, including avocado in your diet is a must.

4. Turmeric

Turmeric isn’t just for curry; it’s a must-have for anyone looking to improve liver health. This spice is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and it’s all thanks to an active ingredient called curcumin. Curcumin helps reduce levels of ALT and AST enzymes associated with fatty liver. Incorporating turmeric into your daily routine — whether through food, tea, or supplements — can help your liver function better and protect it from fatty liver damage.

5. Walnuts

If you’re paranoid (using those words) about your liver, walnuts should be on your snack list. A 2015 review in the World Journal of Gastroenterology found that walnuts are one of the best nuts for reducing fatty liver disease. They’re loaded with antioxidants and omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for liver health. A handful of walnuts can give your liver the nutrients it needs to heal and function properly.
