with Independence Day The Delhi Police has enforced strict traffic restrictions and diversions for the smooth conduct of the festival. These measures, implemented from August 12, will remain in force till August 15.

Heavy vehicles banned, routes changed

To manage the expected influx of people in the national capital, heavy transport vehicles (HTVs) have been banned from entering Delhi from 10 pm on August 12 to 12 noon on August 13 and then again from 10 pm on August 14 to 12 noon on August 15. The advisory said that local city buses, including DTC, will not ply on Ring Road between ISBT Kashmere Gate and Ring Road, NH-24, NH ā€˜T’-Point (Nizamuddin Khatta) from 12 am to 11 pm on Thursday and will use alternative routes available.
