Move over key chains and postcards as souvenirs because now you can bring the “100% authentic breeze” from Lake Como, Italy to all your loved ones. Strange isn’t it? Communications company ItalCommunica has introducedLake Como Air‘Boxes. According to the product website, each can contains 400 ml of purified air from one of the world’s most stunning lakes.

The website describes the product as “a fabulous souvenir, perfect for those who want to rediscover the peace and beauty of this heavenly corner, captured in a tin.” Additionally, it encouraged tourists to take this can home and open it whenever you need a moment of escape, peace or simply beauty.” The cans are priced at 9.90 Euros or ₹ 926 and each can is priced at Rs 400. Milliliter is the air of Lake Como.

Como Mayor Alessandro Rapinis suggests that although it is a creative idea, he would prefer tourists to take home traditional souvenirs such as silk scarves – for which the region is known. “It’s a new idea, but not for everyone,” he says.

For those unaware, Lake Como is a charming destination, located an hour’s train away from Milan. The lake offers a real contrast to the sun-soaked beaches of southern Italy. With its breathtaking natural beauty, postcard-perfect cities and vibrant culture, it’s one of those places you can’t believe is real.

Although it may seem like it, canned air from Lake Como isn’t exactly a new idea. ItalyCommunica got the concept from similar products in Naples – where air has been sold in cans for years.
