WATCH: Gordon Ramsay impressed with young cook’s skills, he calls him up "formidable"

Young food content creators often appear on our social media feeds, amazed by their refined skills at their age. Recently, one such talented young cook received recognition from none other than celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. Chef Gordon is known for his harsh criticism of chefs. But Kian Hat (@cooking_with_kian) received nothing but praise from him. A video showing Gordon’s reaction to one of Kian’s cooking reels has taken Instagram by storm, garnering over 26 million views so far.

In the video, we see Kian making a hat wellington steak. Along the way, we can see his reactions to Gordon’s antics and techniques. At the start, Gordon asks, “How old are you, kid? Are you still in the double digits?” Meanwhile, Kian starts preparing the dish. Gordon says “this is a great sear” when the meat is cooked. Kian is then seen chopping various ingredients including garlic cloves, onions, etc. “His knife skills are amazing!” says Gordon. As the preparation continues, Gordon says, “Looks good. This is the start of something unique. Great choices in the pan too, young man.” Kian starts preparing various elements of the dish. “Awesome. Man, you’re really great,” says Gordon. “Forget MasterChef Junior, why don’t you go straight to MasterChef Adult?” he asks.

Next, the young chef makes a delicious crepe, which even Gordon praises. He adds different elements of the dish, rolling the crepe with meat and stuffing. “There’s so much beautiful color in there,” says Gordon. Finally, Kian rolls out a layer of puff pastry dough.
