real life weight loss story, Ravisha Chinappa, an Indian-origin woman living in South Africa, is inspiring many people with her weight loss journey, which she has shared on her Instagram account, IVF Mamma. Recently, he opened up about his year-long struggle in a video postpartum Weight and how she finally achieved success. Through three simple yet effective lifestyle changes, Ravisha managed to lose over 8 kg of weight within five weeks, from 55 kg to 47 kg. Here’s how he did it.
Ravisha, who will soon turn 35 and is the mother of a young daughter, tells in her video, “I struggled with my postpartum weight for an entire year. Despite all my efforts, I was unable to lose even a kilo or cm of weight.” He further explained how his progress only began when he adopted three daily practices, which he believes are responsible for his significant weight loss.
Here are the three steps he followed to lose weight:
kept myself hydrated
One of Ravisha’s tips is to constantly stay hydrated. “Life is getting busy, and I often forget to hydrate myself, but hydration is one of the ways to burn fat,” she shared. To create a consistent hydration routine, Ravisha set a timer on her phone, which she personalized with an encouraging affirmation: “Water is how you burn fat, beautiful.” She set a timer to go off every 90 minutes after waking up, telling her to drink at least 20 sips of water each time.
Ravisha suggests a simple formula: “Ideally, you’ll want to drink half your body weight in ounces of water.” This routine has not only helped her stay hydrated, but also supported her metabolism, which she believes has played a vital role in her weight loss journey.
Eat protein-rich meals to avoid snacking
Another change in Ravisha’s lifestyle included changing her diet. She realized that adding more protein could help curb her cravings for sweet and salty snacks. “I needed to increase my protein intake to stop snacking,” she shared, so she aimed for at least 100 grams of protein per day, which equates to about 400 calories. He shared that this moderate amount of protein can also significantly reduce cravings, making it easier to avoid unhealthy snacks and focus on more nutrient-dense foods.
kept myself motivated
The final component of Ravisha’s transformation was adjusting her mindset. She began regularly observing herself at her ideal weight, which helped her stay motivated and maintain a positive outlook. According to Ravisha, this mindset shift was necessary to keep her focused on her goals and strengthen her commitment to her health journey.
