When it comes to losing weight we often try to do rigorous workouts or follow extreme diet plans. But it’s actually not that hard, as proven by Fatloss coach Therese O’Callaghan who lost almost 23 kilograms. She recently took to her official Instagram handle to share 6 noteworthy things that she doesn’t do to prevent weight gain and maintain it after losing weight. Here’s what she doesn’t do:
no food restrictions
Therese admits that she has struggled with her relationship with food, a challenge many people face when trying to lose weight. However, she no longer restricts herself from eating certain foods. “The more you tell yourself you’re ‘not allowed’ something, the more you crave it,” he said. Instead, she practices moderation by following the 80/20 rule, where 80 percent of her meals are healthy, and 20 percent can include foods she loves, like donuts, pizza, or chocolate. This way, she can make progress while still enjoying her favorite dishes.
Don’t stress about extra calories
Therese also emphasizes the importance of not stressing over small failures. She doesn’t panic if she eats more calories than she needs or takes a break from her daily routine. “I believe that a day off will not ruin my progress,” she explained. He believes it’s not about the extra calories, but how we respond to these moments. Allowing yourself to enjoy life without guilt is the key to staying on track in the long run.
Rest and recovery matter
For Therese, rest is as important as exercise. She admits that on some days, her workout routine may lag due to other responsibilities. “I guess that’s OK; I’m human, and some days, other priorities are more important,” she said. Therese emphasizes that recovery is an essential part of any fitness journey, and it’s OK if you don’t train every day.

Therese is also candid about not always eating perfectly healthy foods. She enjoys food that brings her joy, whether it’s a burger, cake, or a slice of pizza. He said, “Food is not just about calories; it is also about enjoyment, memories and time with loved ones.” Therese is happy to embrace her body as it is, enjoying food while maintaining a healthy balance.
Don’t expect everyone to understand
