World Heritage Week 2024 Agra: You can now enjoy free entry to Taj Mahal, other historical sites on these dates

Are you planning to travel? Agra For a long time? Well, it looks like the best dates to plan a trip to the city will be from November 19 to November 25. You ask, why? Well, as part of world heritage week festival, visitors can actually cover some of the historical sites Taj MahalAgra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri and others, without any entry fee. On any other regular day, Indian tourists have to pay an entry fee of Rs 50 and international tourists have to pay an entry fee of Rs 1,100. However, during the period of World Heritage Week, visitors will be exempted from paying this fee. However, if one wants to visit the main dome of the Taj Mahal which houses the tombs of Shahjahan and Mumtaz Mahal, one will have to buy a ticket for Rs 200.
The World Heritage Week will begin with a special program at the Sitaram Temple in Soronji. The aim is to make lesser-known heritage sites more prominent among tourists. Archaeologist Dr Rajkumar Patel has shared plans for the week’s activities, which will also include a photography exhibition that will showcase the journey of the Ramayana from the Gupta period to the present. The week will conclude with a special program and another Ramayana-themed exhibition at Ataranjikheda. All these events are organized to highlight the rich cultural heritage and inspire people to support conservation efforts.
World Heritage Week is celebrated every year from 19 November to 25 November to raise awareness about cultural and historical preservation. This year’s theme, “Explore and Experience Diversity” encourages people to learn about and appreciate cultural diversity.
“World Heritage Week is a global celebration dedicated to preserving and promoting cultural and historical heritage,” said Dr Rajkumar Patel, Superintending Archaeologist. The week promises to be an enriching experience for all visitors, blending history, culture and learning on an unforgettable journey through the treasured sites of India.
To facilitate the process for the visitors, ASI, CISF and the local administration will have arrangements in place to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
