Mandatory e-pass for tourists

E-passes were implemented to monitor and limit the number of visitors to these tourist hotspots, ensuring that local resources are not overwhelmed, and that safety protocols can be maintained. Even as the world adapts to post-pandemic realities, this measure remains important to manage the flow of tourists, especially during peak travel seasons like October, when the weather is perfect to visit the hill station. However, local residents are exempted from obtaining the e-pass. This ensures minimum disruption to daily life in these areas.

How to apply for e-pass

To apply for e-pass, visit the official website epass.tnega.org. You will need to provide details such as number of passengers, vehicle type, fuel type and your planned dates of entry and exit. The e-pass, which includes a QR code, will be checked at the entry points of the hill stations.
