There is good news for young Indian travelers planning to visit Australia! The country has announced the launch of a new work and holiday visa under a program called ‘Working Holiday Maker’. It is for individuals in the age group of 18-30. As part of this opportunity, people will be allowed to visit Australia. They can also join short-term courses and work part-time.
This announcement was made by Australia’s Assistant Immigration Minister Matt Thistlethwaite. Approved individuals are allowed to stay for one year. Additionally, if eligible, they can apply for a second visa for an additional year.
This decision is being considered a big step towards deepening the social and economic relations between the two countries.
The country will allow 1,000 young Indians to participate in the ‘Working Holiday Maker’ program for 2024-2025. Registration for selection through the ballot process began on October 1, 2024. It will run till October 30. As per reports, the random selection process will continue till April 30, 2025.
Registration details you need to know
- You must have a valid passport and national identity card.
- People below 30 years of age can register.
- Create an ImmiAccount on the Australian Immigration website.
- You can fill out the Work and Holiday Visa (462) registration form yourself.
- Pay the registration fee and wait for the ballot results.
- You will receive a notification email when selected.
