Initial symptoms and prevention measures of dengue

According to data released by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), 3,082 cases of dengue have been reported in Delhi this year. This is the highest in the last five years, except for 2023 when 4,404 cases were reported during the period, an Indian Express report said.
The MCD on Monday launched a campaign under which it used drones to spray anti-larvae medicine in 15 hectares of waterlogged area in Narela’s Rani Kheda ward. Mayor Shaili Oberoi said, “For the first time in Delhi, anti-mosquito drug is being sprayed through drones… Due to lack of drainage of rain water, the risk of vector-borne diseases increases in this area.”
Dengue is a mosquito-borne disease common in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Mild dengue fever causes high fever and flu-like symptoms. There is no treatment or cure for dengue. Therefore, it is important that you seek medical advice when you start experiencing early symptoms; High fever is one of them.
Dengue can also cause severe fever, also called dengue hemorrhagic fever. This can cause severe bleeding, a sudden drop in blood pressure (shock), and even death.
