What were some of the biggest challenges you faced along the way?
Like others embarking on a fitness journey, Dr Singh also faced many challenges, but overcame them. “Self-doubt was the biggest obstacle,” she said. It wasn’t easy balancing her training with the 24/7 job of being a doctor. But she had to learn how to find time for workouts and meal preparation amid a busy schedule.
Diet and exercise regimen during your transition
Dr. Singh followed a special diet. The diet focused on counting calories and balancing macronutrients with high protein, moderate carbohydrates, and healthy fats. His exercise routine was carefully structured, focusing on muscle group stimulation and rest. “I’ll work one muscle group with two exercises twice a week,” he says, allowing adequate rest and recovery. This consistent diet along with his disciplined diet helped him make steady progress.
How did you overcome setbacks?
Even with a well-planned approach, Dr. Singh faced setbacks, especially due to cravings for unhealthy foods. He developed strategies to overcome these cravings, such as staying hydrated and using relaxation techniques. “I started to see cravings as a natural part of any fitness journey — a signal from my body to relax,” she shared. When the craving became too much, he turned to his coach Mananjit Singh for professional guidance, which helped him maintain his commitment.
What advice do you have for others who want to embark on a similar transformation journey?
For those looking for a similar transformation, Dr. Singh’s advice is simple: “Just believe in yourself.” He emphasizes the importance of seeking guidance when needed and staying true to your goals regardless of the opinions of others. “Discipline, hard work and consistency are the main pillars,” he advises.
How has your life changed since achieving your weight loss goals?
Achieving her weight loss goal brought positive changes to Dr. Singh’s life, beyond her physical appearance. “Life has changed a lot,” he said. His attitude, body language and approach to challenges have all changed. “My mindset has become more positive and I now have the hunger to push my limits,” he says. This change has not only improved his health but also his confidence and resilience.
