As the name suggests, this snack is from Kerala. To make it, soya chunks are mixed with ketchup, vinegar, soya sauce and delicious spices. The use of coconut oil in this recipe gives a distinct taste to the soya chunks. You can eat them as a vegetable with roti or serve them as a snack in your dinner party.

First of all, soak the soya chunks in hot water for about 15 minutes. Squeeze out excess water and keep aside. After this, add cinnamon, onion, chilli and ginger-garlic paste in hot coconut oil and cook till it turns golden. – Add tomatoes and a pinch of salt and cook on high flame until soft. Add spices, some water and cook for a few minutes. Now, add salt, sugar, soya sauce, ketchup, vinegar and a stock cube. Mix well and add soya chunks. Add some more water and mix well. Add masala on top and garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Enjoy while it’s hot!
