As you might have guessed, Champaran Mutton gets its name from the Champaran district of Bihar, which is also said to be its place of origin. Champaran mutton is known by many names, some people call it ‘Ahuna mutton’, while some call it ‘Matka gosht’. This dish is also known as ‘Champaran Mutton Handi’.
