A video went viral in which a man is seen spitting on rotis while making them at a food stall in the fair.
Food fairs are all about good ambiance, delicious food and people coming together. But sometimes, things can take unexpected turns. A shocking incident reportedly caught everyone’s attention at the Uttarayan fair in Bageshwar, Uttarakhand. A video went viral showing two people spitting on rotis while they were making them at a food stall. The clip, shot at the Numaish Khet grounds, sparked outrage online. According to a PTI report, after the video went viral, the police led by Superintendent Chandrashekhar Ghodke immediately stepped in and arrested Aamir and Firasat.

This is not the first time authorities have taken action over food safety violations. Recently, the Telangana Food Safety Department Task Force visited several establishments across the city for inspection. During his visit to dairy units in Hyderabad, he revealed some violations. At Durga Dairy Products in Sultan Bazaar, the team found expired artificial flavoring agents – like 500 ml each of vanilla and lemon flavours, which had crossed their expiry date from 2020. These products were immediately discarded.

Officials also noted several sanitation issues, such as flaky roofs, poor floors and missing drains. Food handlers were not wearing hair caps, and doors were not properly sealed to protect against insects. Additionally, the food business operator failed to produce required employee health records and Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTac) certificates for employees during the inspection.
