Can wrong food combinations flare skin problems?

Yes! While it is well known that intestine health has a direct effect on the skin, incorrect food combinations can spoil the skin conditions. According to Ayurvedic health coach Dimple Jangda, some food combinations may trigger unwanted reactions in the body. Eating inconsistent foods simultaneously can cause metabolic waste in the intestine.

What happens in the intestine?

Undivided metabolic waste begins to release, fermentation, and gases that can disrupt the intestine lining. These toxins can then leak in the bloodstream and can settle under the skin, causing provision and other skin issues.

What food combinations should you avoid?

1. Fruit and dairy

According to experts, fruits and dairy products should not be eaten together. Most of the fruits are citric, meaning that they have low pH levels, while milk and dairy products have a neutral pH. Mixing both can accumulate and break, possibly cause digestive discomfort and skin problems.

2. Fruit with grains

Avoid combining fruits with grains or vegetables. Eating them together can slow down digestion and give rise to swelling, indigestion and other issues.

3. Hot honey

If you consume honey regularly, avoid heating it, as it can change its beneficial properties. Instead, choose the option of simple food combinations that support digestion and reduce skin irritation.

Which foods are good for the skin?

To keep your skin healthy and hydrated, include certain foods and nutrients in your diet. Advisor nutritionist Rupali Dutta recommends the inclusion of specific nutrients for a clear and more bright color.

1. Antioxidant for skin protection

Fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants, which protect the skin cells from damage. Pollution and stress accelerate aging, causing dull and wrinkles. A colorful, seasonal diet provides a variety of antioxidants to support skin health.

2. Vitamin C for collagen production

Vitamin C is essential for collagen production, which keeps the skin firm and young. It also helps to protect against damage and premature aging. Include foods like lemon, papaya, tomato and guava in your daily diet for natural boost.

3. Vitamin E for skin protection

Vitamin E helps to mold the skin with UV damage and free radicals, which contribute to wrinkles and dysfunction. Good sources include almonds, avocados, hazelnuts, pine nuts and sunflower or corn oil.

4. Selenium for skin health

Low selenium levels can cause acne and premature aging. This mineral helps neutralizes free radicals that reduce skin and provide UV protection. Get your dosage from lentils, brown rice, chicken and Brazilian nuts.

5. Healthy fats for shine

Omega -3 and omega -6 fatty acids maintain hydration, skin tone and tenderness. Good sources include flaxseeds, chia seeds, nuts, plant oil and fatty fish, all of which promote glowing skin.
