In a move to revive its tourism sector, which had suffered a severe blow during the COVID-19 border restrictions, China has announced an update to its visa-free transit policy, giving travelers a new reason to explore the Middle Kingdom. Eligible foreign travelers can now enjoy up to 240 hours or 10 days visa-free stay in China, a significant jump from the previous limit of 72 to 144 hours. The announcement made by the National Immigration Administration (NIA) through its official WeChat account has already created a stir in the travel community.
