About 350,000 nursing staff in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be asked to vote on a 3.6% increment from Monday.

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has already rejected the award as a “grotes” and says the vote will be important in determining the next stages that may include a ballot for the strike action.

The government says that as a result of the salary hike, nurses will earn more than £ 30,000 as a new starter for the first time.

A bitter pay dispute saw the nurses in England, Wales and Northern Ireland from the end of 2022 and through winter, in which some members of other health unions were walked out on salaries.

With the possibility of another round of industrial action, the vote is being billed as the largest single vote by the profession launched in the UK.

RCN England Executive Director Petricia Markwis told the Today’s Today’s Today’s Today’s Today’s Consultation at the Award, not the strike at this level.

RCN has not set a date to close the consultation.

In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, ministers announced payment awards following all reviews body recommendations.

There was 5.4% average increase for resident doctors, earlier known as junior doctors, 4% for advisors and other senior doctors and 3.6% for nurses and other health workers.

RCN General Secretary Professor Nikola Ranger said that the government “once again comes to pay the nursing behind the queue”.

“Nursing is an incredible career, but despite being the most valuable profession by the public, we weigh at the bottom of the NHS pay scale and are ready to get one of the lowest pay prizes.”

According to Ms. Ranger, the nursing staff in England has tolerated “more than a decade pay erosion”, resulting in the number of nurses to “sky touch”.

Ranger said, “It is time to show that nurses are given importance and from today, hundreds of thousands of nursing employees working in NHS will give their decision whether 3.6% is sufficient.”

Covering the Department of Health and Social Care, England, the increment on the table was above the increase of inflation for NHS employees in the last 10 months.

“We have fully accepted the recommendations of payment as we give importance to every NHS professional patient’s care in the care of the patient,” said a spokesman.

“We cannot undo a decade of neglect of a decade in less than a year, but this government, along with NHS employees, is rebuilding their salary and reconstructing our healthcare.”

Doctors residents in England are already being voted on strike action on salary. Other Health Unions are conducting votes at the awards.

All this can put a shadow on the 10-year plan for NHS in England over the next few weeks.

The Scottish government has already agreed to a two -year salary proposal with health unions.
