However, we have often seen health enthusiasts avoiding the drink altogether due to the excess fat and calorie content. In this article, we will show you a healthy version of iced coffee that is also low in calories. This recipe is shared by nutritionist and weight loss coach Mohita Mascarenhas.

Is it safe to drink coffee in summer?

We all know that coffee contains caffeine, which is diuretic in nature. According to consultant nutritionist Rupali Dutta, this can lead to excess fluid loss in the body, leading to dehydration. However, she adds, “Several studies have refuted the notion that coffee is dehydrating.” In fact, experts say that coffee can easily become a part of your summer diet if consumed in limited quantities.

How much coffee should one drink in a day?

According to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a healthy adult should not drink more than 400 milligrams of coffee a day, which is about four cups. However, the amount often varies depending on individual health conditions, age, gender, metabolic rate, and more. Nutritionist Mohita Mascarenhas, while sharing her low-calorie iced coffee recipe, suggests that one should limit to drinking two cups of coffee a day. Low-Calorie Iced Coffee Recipe How to make low calorie iced coffee?

Step 1. Take one spoon of instant coffee in a glass.
Step 2. Add 1-2 teaspoons of sugar and some hot water, mix and let it cool.
Step 3. Add ice cubes and some low-fat milk.
Step 4. To enhance the taste, you can use flavored coffee or drops of vanilla extract or cinnamon powder.
