Vidya Balan She is back as Manjulika in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and her fans can’t keep calm. Apart from her comeback in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa series, she has gone through a major transformation weight loss Travel In a recent media interaction, she revealed that she lost weight by following a specific diet and ‘no exercise’.
She opened up about her body image and weight loss journey, revealing how years of battling societal judgments about her body have shaped her outlook. For most of her life, Vidya felt pressure to be thin, which led her to stick to a strict diet and rigorous exercise. But this approach did not help him. She often lost weight only to gain it back. However, this year, she found a different approach with the help of Chennai-based Amura Health, a nutrition group that focused on reducing inflammation rather than just focusing on weight loss.
Vidya shared that Amura’s team helped her identify specific foods that trigger inflammation in her body, resulting in bloating and weight gain. Through the elimination diet, Vidya removed certain foods, even those that are generally considered healthy. “I didn’t know that palak (spinach) and doodhi (gourd) didn’t appeal to me,” she explained. This approach worked wonders, helping her lose weight by meeting her body’s specific needs. “We often think that all vegetables are good for us, but that’s not always true,” she said.
Another change in Vidya’s routine was giving up her intense workout regime. “They told me to stop working out,” he shared. For the first time, Vidya spent a year without heavy exercise and the results were unexpected. “People keep telling me I look the thinnest and I haven’t worked out at all this year,” she said.
Reflecting on her experiences, Vidya shared the negative impact societal judgments regarding weight had on her self-esteem. “I grew up with the label of being a fat girl,” she said. Due to the constant focus on her weight, especially in her early career, she stopped equating her abilities with her appearance. He shared how his self-image was once shaped by external considerations.
Vidya also dealt with the way society views and labels body types. Vidya said that ‘fat’ today almost ‘sounds like abuse’ but she chooses to consistently use the word ‘fat’ because ‘there are thin people and there are fat people’, and she ‘doesn’t want to find it embarrassing in any way. ‘Believe’. She said today people refer to fat in a way where ‘it feels like you’re fat shaming someone.’ But Vidya feels that when you call someone fat you are ‘just describing the body shape’, and all judgment about the terms needs to go away.
