Travel advisory has been issued for. nagaland National Highway 29 (NH-29), a key route connecting the state with the rest of India, has been blocked following a series of landslides. Landslides triggered by heavy rains in recent days have disrupted transport and caused a lot of inconvenience to commuters.
Authorities have urged travellers to avoid unnecessary travel to Nagaland until the roads are cleared. Those who have to travel are advised to contact local authorities for the latest information on road conditions and alternative routes. The state government is working tirelessly to restore road connectivity and minimise the impact of the landslide on the region.

NH-29 plays a vital role in Nagaland’s economy and connectivity. It serves as a major trade route and connects the state with Assam and other parts of the country. The disruption of this highway has affected tourism, trade and essential supplies in the region.
The state government is working to clear the landslides and restore normal traffic flow on NH-29. But the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has issued a warning of possible waterlogging and flash floods in several districts due to the ongoing heavy rains. Areas like Dimapur, Nuiland, Chumukedima, Bhandari, Pangti, Tijit and Tuli have been identified as high-risk areas.

Officials are advising travelers to exercise caution and prepare for potential flooding. The incessant rain has also increased the risk of landslides in vulnerable areas.
