On a misty winter morning, when a cool breeze blows over Srinagar’s iconic Dal Lake, there is something magical about a steaming cup of Kahwa – the golden tea of Kashmir – accompanied by the tinkling sound of a rabab. Diljit Dosanjh had exactly the same experience during his visit to Kashmir. The singer-actor shared a clip on Instagram, where he is enjoying Kahwa served by charming “Dal star” Mushtaq Bhai. Diljit, wrapped in woolen clothes and a blanket, is sitting on a shikara surrounded by the murky waters of the lake. As the boat slowly moves forward, Mushtaq joyfully welcomes Diljit, “Welcome to Kashmir! I am a Dil star, and you are a global star.” What happens next really steals the show – the creation of Mushtaq’s famous 66-mix Kahwa.

“Almonds, cardamom, walnuts, cashews, honey, cinnamon, ginger, tea leaves, liquorice, rose…” Mushtaq proudly lists some of the ingredients that go into this drink. His words are punctuated by the sweet tune of rabab played by Adnan, which Diljit mentioned in his caption. “Whoever has not tasted my Kahwa has not truly experienced Kashmir,” says Mushtaq, pouring the drink carefully into a cup and asking, “Would you like it more sweet or less sweet?” ?” Diljeet politely replies, “Less.” The singer takes a sip, smiles satisfied, and says, “Very good (Very good).” As they talk, Mushtaq asks, “Do you live in Amritsar?” Diljit replies smiling, “I don’t live anywhere; I just keep roaming.” Diljit Dosanjh’s caption read: “Dal Lake star Mushtaq bhai ka kahwa and Adnan bhai ka rabab.”
