Vidya Balanâs weight has reduced significantly. In a recent interview, she revealed that she lost weight by following an anti-inflammatory diet and âno exerciseâ. On the other hand, during an interactive Q&A session on Instagram, Samantha revealed that she is âon a strict anti-inflammatory diet which is necessary for my condition.â
Losing weight can be difficult. One has to control their diet, get good sleep, and manage stress among others. There are many foods that can cause inflammation in the body which ultimately comes in the way of weight loss.
Vidya Balan says in the interview, âYou know, I have struggled to be thin my whole life. I have been dieting and exercising consistently. Sometimes I would lose weight, but it would always come back. Then, earlier this year, I came across a nutrition group called Amura (Amura Health) in Chennai. They told me it was just swelling, not fat. So, they put me on an anti-inflammatory diet and it worked great â the weight went off because they removed the foods that didnât suit me.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu, on the other hand, said that she is on a âstrict anti-inflammatory dietâ. Responding to a question during her Instagram Q&A session, she said, âAnother weighty comment. I saw an entire thread discussing my weight. If you must know, I am on a strict anti-inflammatory diet, which is essential to managing my condition. This keeps me within a specific weight range that works best for my health (myositis). Letâs stop judging people â live and let live. It is 2024 after all.â
What is anti inflammatory diet?
An anti-inflammatory diet focuses on eating foods that help reduce inflammation in the body. It may help manage chronic conditions like arthritis, heart disease and diabetes. This diet emphasizes whole, unprocessed foods rich in antioxidants, fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. Along with this, one may also have to remove certain foods from oneâs diet that may cause bloating for the person.

- Nuts: Almonds and walnuts give you healthy fats and antioxidants that can help reduce inflammation.
- olive oil: Extra virgin olive oil is rich in anti-inflammatory compounds like oleocanthal.
- Turmeric: It contains curcumin which is a powerful anti-inflammatory compound.
- Ginger: It contains gingerol which is known to reduce inflammation and pain.
