Sanganer village, about 15 kilometers from Jaipur, is famous for its beautiful blue pottery, which gets its attractive color from the cobalt dye used in its manufacture. Although this art is of Indo-Turkish origin, locals say that a group of Persian artisans brought this craft to the city. The museum was created on the initiative of Rachel Bracken-Singh and her husband Pritam Singh and is housed in a beautifully renovated mansion, showcasing the textiles, tools and techniques used in this centuries-old craft. Workshops are also available for those interested in learning the basics of block printing.
