The famous delivery app and on-demand feature platform, Swiggi, recently highlighted the trends related to pizza consumption in India in the last one year. On the occasion of World Pizza Day (9 February is celebrated every year), Swiggi shared insight based on his internal data. From 9 February 2024 to February 9, 2025, it ordered 34 million pizza in the country. The company also revealed that on 9 February 2025, more than 1.35 lakh pizza was ordered in just 24 hours.
Surprisingly, which cities consumed the most pizza? Swiggy said, “The whole year, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad emerged as India’s last pizza hub, dying for each top position.” It has also been mentioned that Bangalore and Mumbai have given more than 3 million orders in each year in the last one year. In terms of pizza varieties, Margerita Pizza was the most popular. Swiggy filed over 1 million orders in the previous year. The company also said that this special pizza is at the top of the chart in all cities.

In the context of Sangat, garlic bread, cheese dip and coke were the most popular options. For the most preferred pizza brand, Swiggi stated that Domino Pizza received over 2.7 million orders from Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The company also highlighted two specific pizza orders for different reasons. First, a Swigy user in Mumbai ordered a price of 200 pizza (in the same order) in 2024, a day of Rs 45000 (in the same order). This included 20 margarita pizza, 20 Mexican green wave pizza, 20 Indy Tandoori Paneer Pizza, as well as 30 garlic breadstics and 30. cheese dip. According to Swiggi, a user in the border (West Bengal) also managed to get an onion cheese pizza in just 3.4 minutes.
Earlier, Swiggi’s end of the year for 2024 made headlines for various reasons. One of its revelations was that there were 83 million biryani orders in that year.
