As Diwali festivities have begun in India, Western Railways (WR) has started operations of more than 250. special trains For Diwali and Chhath Puja festive season. According to Indian Railways, more than 120 trains will run on Tuesday 29 October.

Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railways, said that to meet the increasing passenger demand during festivals, Western Railways and Central Railways are running additional festival special trains.
Of these, around 40 trains will be managed by the Mumbai division, of which 22 trains will travel exclusively to popular destinations in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha. Here is the complete list.
On the other hand, Eastern Railway has also announced that it is running 50 special trains and providing 400 additional services during Diwali and Chhath Puja. Eastern Railway PRO Kaushik Mitra said that Eastern Railway has increased the number of special trains from 33 to 50 this year.
“Eastern Railways is running more trains this year for the festive season – Diwali and Chhath – than last year. Last year, the number of special trains was 33, this year it has increased to 50,” Mitra said.
