“That’s one of the reasons I won’t be bringing my wife back to this country,” Harry said.

Moving from Britain to the U.S. — where he and Meghan are raising their 5-year-old son Archie and 3-year-old daughter Lilibet — has been a cause of rift between him and the royal family. However, Harry argues that his battles with the press strained the relationship even more.

“It’s now clear to everyone that to attack the press and to pursue these claims risks this kind of retaliation from them – and it’s not in (the royal family’s) interests to do that,” Harry said. “But, you know, it’s a hard question to answer because anything I say about my family results in a barrage of abuse from the press… I’ve made it very clear that this is something that needs to be done. It would be good if we, you know, did it as a family. I believe that, again, from a service perspective and when you’re in a public role, these are things we should do for the wider good.”

“I think with everything that has happened, people have come to know what the truth of the matter is. For me, the mission continues, but this has happened, this has happened, yes. Because of this, yes, as you say, a rift has occurred.”
