Kshitij Sharma’s journey of weight loss is also an inspirational. He lost 37 kg in a period of 6 months. How he feels the ash about it and he says that he has never been happy.
Kshitij has been on this journey for many years. “I grew up, I was always a healthy, dubbed child. But you know what happens when a person relates on his own that he needs to address a health issue. In 2016, I dipped to take stock of my health status. I worked, I worked, I managed to lose 40 kg over a period of two years. However, when I went to Canada, I had moved again when I had moved again.
He stayed fast for 48 days …
Kshitij shared that he came to the concept of fasting for a long time. “When I learned about this concept, I naturally found it difficult to live on food for only water and 30 odd days. However, once I decided to do so, I ended the fast for 48 days. The biggest challenge was controlling craving. I really saw food reels for hours to mentally satisfy my hunger. Kshitij also shared that being hydrated helped them to prevent hungry pain. “Another hack that I used, it could look strange, uttering on a piece of ice. In a way, it helped my brain think that I was eating something, and it really worked most of the time,” the horizon explained.

Drinking about 4-5 liters of water every day helped the skin be very smooth and clear, shared kshitij. “I also felt more energetically and mentally sharp. One of the best things about long-term fasting is that it gives time to fix your body, your digestive improvement, inflammation decreases, and you simply feel lighter as a whole.

During the fasting period, Kshitij avoided eating anything. “When I switched to a meal in a day, I ensured to cut all high-carb foods. No sugar, no junk, nothing heavy. I focused more on protein-rich foods to help recover muscles and kept me full for a long time. All this was about eating clean and disciplined,” he said.
We all will agree that verification of someone’s efforts goes a long way to keep a person motivated. “I was lost 25 kg. But what was actually a different hit, when people started paying attention and started accepting change. It seemed surprising. It felt surprising. It pushed me to keep going and in fact inspired me to live a healthy lifestyle. To promote confidence, I really inspired me to go fast for another 30-day, where I left 12 and kilo.
The form of workouts that worked for him …
“After my first fast I had kept for 30 days, I came back to work seriously. I started hitting the gym for 6 days a week. In alternative days, I focused on weight training, usually trained 2 body organs per session. And in other days, I do cardio sessions to maintain my endurance and help with fat loss.
He made a mistake during his weight loss trip …
A major mistake that was Kshitij during the journey was not initially taking electrolytes with water. “I felt that only drinking water would be enough, but I often felt dry and less on energy throughout the day. In a few weeks, I started adding electrolytes and saw immediate improvement in my energy levels. It created a big difference, of course I want me to do from the first day,” he shared.
Advice for people trying to lose weight …
Kshitij believes that one needs mental strength and passion to lose weight. “It really depends on how badly you want to come back in size. Your mind will leave the way before doing your body, so you are ready to focus. In fact, whatever I remember that I was missing every shameful moment, every time someone made fun of me, every time I was giving it in my notes, I got it to tell me.
