The Korean 10 Won Cheese Coin Pancake and the Japanese 10 Yen Pancake are among the most popular dessert choices. These delicious, coin-shaped treats are a favorite street food option, usually filled with gooey mozzarella cheese. Singapore now offers its own version, cleverly shaped like a 10-cent coin, adding a local twist to this global trend. Named the 10 Cent Pancake, this delightful snack can be found at a dedicated takeaway kiosk at Tanjong Pagar Plaza, becoming Singapore’s first standalone shop for this trendy treat. The 10 Cent Pancake is designed to resemble a larger version of Singapore’s old 10-cent coin, with intricate details such as “TEN CENTS” clearly imprinted and a delicate star jasmine design carved into the batter. Each pancake is roughly the size of a palm and packs a satisfying punch with every bite, thanks to generous amounts of mozzarella cheese. What sets the 10 Cent Pancake apart from its Korean and Japanese counterparts is its unique filling options.

Another popular sweet is Kunafa chocolate from Dubai. Traditionally made with short pastry and soft cheese soaked in sweet syrup, kunafa gets a delicious upgrade with chocolate. Melted chocolate or Nutella is folded into the cheese or poured on top, creating a perfect blend of crunchy, gooey and chocolatey flavours.
