The train began its journey from New Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station on Wednesday and was flagged off by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) Managing Director Sushma Arora and Executive Director Rajendra Singh Shekhawat. There were a total of 32 passengers on board the train, which included 5 each from the United Kingdom and the United States, two each from Singapore, Spain and Australia, 1 each from Poland, Ukraine and Sri Lanka and 12 from India.

Speaking to ANI, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) Managing Director Sushma Arora expressed happiness over the commencement of the royal tour of the Palace of Wheels. He said, “This ‘Palace of Wheels’, which is the pride of Rajasthan, is a moment of joy for all of us, as it is all set to begin its maiden voyage of this tourism season.”

The 8 day long train journey starts from Delhi and covers tourist destinations in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh before returning back to Delhi. For those who want to book tickets for the ‘Palace on Wheels’, here is a look at the ticket prices and other booking details.

Ticket prices depend on different seasons depending on demand and different occupancy categories. The period between October and March is considered the peak season for this luxurious train due to the favorable weather in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
