A traveler who recently visited Goa has urged people to boycott it due to the filth and crowding at the destination. He called it a ‘tourist trap’. But how true is this?

GoaA haven for all party-lovers, the coastal destination recently sparked some backlash on social media after a tourist described it as a “mess”. He compared it to other South Asian destinations including Phuket, Bali, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.
“The hotels and cabs are only focused on ripping off the tourists. The clubs are charging exorbitant entry fees that are on par with those in Ibiza which is a joke. The beaches are dirty and overcrowded with tourists. I don’t understand why anyone would still come to Goa. ” X user Aditya Trivedi wrote.
Since being uploaded, this post has gone viral on social media and many people seem to agree with it. “The thing that bothers me till date is that the cab driver charges me Rs 650 for a 5 km journey, I pay maximum Rs 80-100 in Gurgaon, the distance to my office by metro is the same Rs 5 Kimi Hai..I’m sure I will never go there in my life,” another user commented.
Another person wrote, “One can easily visit Vietnam for less than 55k-65k for 7 days straight with the best hotels, views, food, clubs, entertainment, places etc. This also includes the pristine beaches of Da Nang Are included.”
